FAQs:
Do I need a partner to join a class? Both singles and couples are welcome and encouraged to take any class, and you don't have to bring a partner to join most of our regular classes.
Do I need special shoes? You do not need to invest in dance shoes to get started. Street shoes are fine for beginners. Just DO wear shoes that will stay on your feet and allow you to move easily on a wood floor. (Heavy-tread sneakers, crepe or rubber soles, flip-flops, and backless shoes generally are not appropriate.) If you are in the intermediate level, you should start looking into dance shoes. If you are advanced, you should already have them.
How do I enroll? When do I pay? To plan you the best class possible, we require RSVP in advance. You can RSVP with the teacher directly by phone or e-mail, or through our online store. We consider your RSVP a promise to pay, either at the time of the enrollment or on the night of the class, and a promise to attend. Cancelling an RSVP for non-emergencies or not-showing at all is way uncool. We try to keep our prices low and our enrollments easy, so please don’t do that to us.
That being said, [fine print alert!] we must reserve the right to cancel a class or workshop due to insufficient enrollment. We typically bend over backwards to avoid that, but occasionally it just works out that way. If we elect to cancel anything for which you pre-paid, you are entitled to a full refund, a credit, or transfer to another fascinating class – your choice. Oh, and we deeply appreciate your patience and understanding!
Can I just drop in unannounced on the night of the class? You are welcome to just drop in and pay on the night of a workshop or class without RSVPing in advance. If you do, you will be auditing the class (i.e. listening in and working on your own), and no provision will be made to provide you a partner or special instruction.
Gosh. Why so mean? Not for the sake of being mean, but to honor the students who RSVPed in advance (thereby ensuring there would be a class for you to drop in on at all).
